Powdered Poly Aluminum Chloride (PAC) is a coagulant and one of the products in the Poly Aluminum Chloride family, packaged and used in solid form. PAC is produced by drying liquid PAC using either a spray dryer or a drum dryer. Solid PAC products are available in the market in two grades: drinking-water and industrial.

The appearance of drinking-water PAC usually ranges from off-white to light cream or pale yellow, while the appearance of industrial PAC varies from deep yellow to orange or brown. Due to the costs associated with drying and packaging, solid PAC is more expensive than liquid PAC, and as a result, the cost of wastewater treatment using solid PAC is often higher than with high-quality liquid PAC. Nevertheless, the use of powdered PAC is preferred in certain industries and regions over liquid PAC.
